  • I wanted to be a freelancer
  • Focused on projects and meetups
  • Tried to contribute as much as possible to anything code related
  • Got the job because of a guy I met at the webclerks meetup and kept helping on projects 
  • Already did freelance work
  • Job had to be English speaking
  • Focused on meetups and events to
  • Didn't feel I had enough portfolio projects...
  • ...applied anyways
  • Over 50 applications from April until August
  • Followed the rule "if in doubt, apply"
  • Two rounds of applications
  • Changing resume template and wording helped
  • First interview ended up landing me the job
